I mean, since this place was in Irvine, I wasn’t expecting anything spectacular in terms of taste. The burrito, however, was bigger then what a normal “Mexican” restaurant would make in Irvine, so I’ll give them that. I got the wet pork burrito, and to be honest, it’s very mediocre, but that was exactly what I was expecting. Irvine isn’t known for it’s Mexican food offerings, nor much else for that matter, so the fact that this place exists isn’t surprising.

The the meat was dry and the red sauce that was topped on top of the burrito was too one dimensional, not enough different flavors. It was spicy and salty, thats about it. I didn’t taste any garlic, any cumin, nothing special or what I’d come to expect from Mexican food. Of course, I’m from Santa Ana and live about two blocks away from El Gallo Giro, probably one of the premiere places to get Mexican food, so comparing Las Fajitas in the same category wouldn’t be fair considering it’s suited for an Irvine crowd. It’s okay for Irvine, but in a more broad spectrum, it’s sub-par. Try it if you like, just don’t expect to be blown away by anything.
